1957 - Company Founded On January 1, 1957, the small company "Relais- und Feinwerkbau Essen Helmut Mauell" was founded in the town of Werden - the starting point of today's Helmut Mauell GmbH. In the same year, a patent was granted for the MR10 annunciator relay.

1961 - Change of Location The Company moves from the town of Werden to the town of Velbert-Neviges. Patenting and market launch of mosaic-type control panels designed by Mauell.

1966 The company premises are expanded with a second building. By now, three production areas have been established:

1969 - International Expansion The first Mauell subsidiary - "Helmut Mauell AG" - is established in Switzerland. Also, the company’s product range is extended to include signal recording and indicating systems.

1970 More international Mauell subsidiaries are established:
"Helmut Mauell do Brasil Ltda.", and shortly afterwards subsidiaries are established in Argentina, Venezuela, Canada, South Africa, and Australia. The company headquarters in Germany are expanded with a third building.

1971 The "Mauell Corporation" is founded in New Jersey, U.S.A. The 4th company building expands the Mauell headquarters in the town of Velbert-Neviges.

1972 - The company name is changed to "Helmut Mauell GmbH"

1973 - New dimensions New departments are created: Power Station and Process Control, Planning and Design. The first ME 4002 power station control system is completed.

1975 Mauell GmbH successfully automates the 400 MW generating unit of Pleinting power station (Bayernwerke), which is a first demonstration of the company’s know-how and professionalism in the design, planning and implementation of large-scale engineering projects.
The completion of the ME 8000 microprocessor system marks the company's first step in the development of power distribution and telecontrol technology.

Headquarter premises at Velbert-Neviges are extended to an area of 21,000 m2, of which 10,000 m2 are office and production area.

1982 - 25th Anniversary of the Helmut Mauell GmbH The subsidiary "Helmut Mauell BV" is founded in the Netherlands.

1983 Topping-out ceremony at Mauell GmbH. The first part of the new high-rise administration building is completed in this year. The 7-storey building provides office rooms for management, Sales, development and design departments.

1985 The subsidiary "Helmut Mauell AB" is founded in Sweden.

1988 Mauell’s workforce keeps growing.

1991 - Go East!
In Thuringia, the southern region of former East Germany, Mauell GmbH takes over the company "Wetron Weida” which continues its business as "Mauell Weida GmbH".

1992 The newly built 2nd section of the high-rise office building in Velbert-Neviges is ready for moving in.

1996 This year sees the successful completion of the large-scale power station automation projects at MVA Stapelfeld incineration plant and Boxberg and Jänschwalde power stations.

1997 - Mauell GmbH celebrates its 40th anniversary!

1999 The product range is revised, modified and extended to adjust to current market requirements. This strengthens the market position of the company’s ME30 automation products.

2001 - The step into the next millenium The new Mauell large-screen rear projection system is launched on the market.

2006 The newly developed ME 4012 PA automation system for power distribution applications is offically launched at the Hanover Trade Fair. Large-scale automation projects in power station control are completed successfully, which shows the customers' trust in medium-sized enterprises.
